Synod Ordination!
Dear Pastors, Rostered Lay Leaders, and Brothers & Sisters in Christ in the Northwestern Ohio Synod:
We are pleased to announce that on Sunday, August 1, 2010 the Northwestern Ohio Synod will be celebrating a Synod Ordination ordaining several candidates into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
This Synod Ordination will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Bowling Green, Ohio. The Service of Holy Communion with the Rite of Ordination will be held at 4:00 p.m.
Clergy are invited to vest and process. The color of the day is green.
There will be a reception following the service.
St. Mark’s is located at 315 South College Drive, Bowling Green.
As of today, July 7th, the candidates who have confirmed their participation in this ordination service are:
Joseph Edward Lees who has been called by St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fremont, Ohio and Sarah Elizabeth Teichmann who has been called by Zion Lutheran Church (Latcha), Perrysburg, Ohio.
Details regarding the installations will follow in separate announcements.
We invite you to share this information in your congregation's newsletters and bulletins, and pray that many of our members will be present for this special service. This is a great opportunity for young people throughout our synod to witness an ordination and participate in worship in a very special way, so we urge you to make arrangements for youth groups to attend this extraordinary occasion.
We know that you will remember this ministry in your prayers and we thank you for your continued ministry and support as we live our lives together in the Gospel as the Northwestern Ohio Synod, ELCA.
Your brother in Christ,
Bishop Marcus C. Lohrmann
