Reflects recommended, but optional 2009 Amendments to Synod Constitutions as approved by the Eleventh Churchwide Assembly (August 2009). PASSEDRESOLUTION 11-01 - Mission Partnering
RESOLVED that EVERY congregation in the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America is encouraged to partner with one or more of the Synod’s Authorized Mission Partner Congregations and seek ways to share the joys and sorrows of their partner congregation(s), and when possible to host visits between them. RESOLVED, that representatives from the Northwestern Ohio Synod seek to begin an interreligious conversation with representatives of the Islamic community, beginning with the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, with the goal of seeking increased mutual understanding; and be it further RESOLVED that the bishop, as this synod’s chief ecumenical officer, form a task force to commence this conversation.
